Financial Sustainability

There must be an acknowledgement from all parties that revenues have changed and unfortunately we are not seeing the overly aggressive revenue increases that  we have seen in the past.  I was the leader on your City Council to limit our spending growth at 2% maximum.  Any additional revenues beyond that must be put away for the “not so good” years.  This will help to diminish the roller coaster effect of revenues in the past.    This new way of looking at revenues and the budget could also generate income for services for which we now cannot afford or for new facilities.
